Mr. Hugh Buckley, Chair of the Board of Governors of Redeemer Pacific College, is pleased to announce the naming of Dr. Christine Jones as the second president of Redeemer Pacific College, an independent Catholic College that functions as an approved Teaching Center for Trinity Western University in Langley, British Columbia.
Dr. Jones holds degrees from the University of British Columbia (B.A.) and McGill University (M.A., Ph.D.). She has 17 years teaching and administrative experience at four Canadian universities including Simon Fraser; University of British Columbia; the University of Montreal and McGill University. She also taught at Redeemer Pacific College during the fall 2010 term.
Dr. Jones will take over from the current president, Mr. Tom Hamel (B.A., TWU ’95), this fall. Mr. Hamel founded Redeemer Pacific College with the assistance of Archbishop Adam Exner; Trinity Western University; Richard Sewell CGA; Psychologist James Marland (M.A., TWU ’95); Father Michael Scanlan TOR; Dr. Stephen Miletic (Franciscan U) and Dr. Andrew Minto (Franciscan U) in 1999. Mr. Hamel approached the RPC Board of Governors last fall with a request to step down from the president’s position to lead RPC’s annual fund raising program.
